This paper presents a design of dual-polarized bipartite Huygens’s metasurface (HMTS) for Local 5G application at 28.25 GHz. Our proposed HMTS is simply formed by only two resonators per a diffraction grating period. To support both V- and H-Pol. wave propagations, the modified cross-shaped resonator is used in the HMTS design based on single PCB layer. By properly selecting the grating period and optimizing bipartite resonator, our optimal HMTS can provide a similar wave reflection feature of θi = 10º to θr = -70º under two opposite sides of wave incident plane. Regarding to this flexibility of wave impinging side, our proposed HMTS enables a simple installation and cost reduction. Then, an alternative application on room ceiling is discussed for expanding Local 5G coverage onto blind spot area behind wave obstacle. |
