Channel Segregation and Multi-Subband Assignment for Inter-Cell Interference Coordination in Ultra-dense RAN

(in English) Ultra-high-density radio access network (RAN) with many distributed antennas in a base station area (cell) are considered effective to improve the coverage and the link capacity. To reduce the computational complexity of radio signal processing in ultra-high-density RAN, we have proposed to divide users into multiple clusters and then, perform cluster-wise MU-MIMO. We proposed an intra- and inter-cell interference coordination. The inter-cell interference coordination is based on a combination of Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) and a channel segregation (CS) algorithm, called CS-FFR, and is done by each base station (BS) in distributed manner. In this paper, we evaluate by computer simulation the impacts of the number of sub-bands and the sub-band allocation ratio in CS-FFR on the convergence speed of sub-band segregation and the user link capacity, and discuss the optimization of the sub-band allocation ratio.
