Hollow Core Fibers (HCFs) have been gathered considerable attentions since they can realize novel optical properties which are difficult to realize with conventional glass core fibers. Now, a lot of investigations have been done to use HCFs in a transmission links. This trend has happened since HCFs have unique optical properties, such as ultra low latency, ultra low non-linearity, ultra low loss, and resistance for senior conditions. On the other hand, in order to utilize HCFs as a transmission media, in addition to improvements of optical properties required for transmission applications of the fiber itself, the development of peripherical technologies, such as connections and cabling, are required. This paper describe these developments. |
