Bandwidth Enhancement of a Spherical Helix Antenna with Multi-Mode Excitation

(in English) We propose the electrically small spherical helix antenna (SHA) with a folded structure to achieve broadbanding by using the multi-mode excitation.
It is revealed that the proposed antenna can achieve wideband characteistics for SHA with the close Q factor of the Chu limit.
Good agreement of the impedance and the radiation pattern was observed between the numerical and the experimental results.
It was shown that the proposed antenna radiating both TE and TM mode has the larger bandwidth compared with the result of conventional small antennas when the VSWR is equal or smaller than $2.5$.
The realized bandwidth ratio is $18.7%$ when the antenna size is 0.08 of a wavelength.
