A Deployment of SRv6 Single Stack Backbone at ShowNet 2022

(in English) This paper reports the design and deployment of the SRv6 single-stack backbone at Interop Tokyo 2022 ShowNet. Interop Tokyo is one of the largest exhibitions about network technologies. ShowNet, a demonstration network built at Interop Tokyo, conducts various experiments and inter-operability tests for new protocols with the latest products. ShowNet has investigated the applicability of SRv6 in recent years, and this year, we adopted SRv6 for the whole ShowNet backbone network. The ShowNet Backbone network in 2022 was composed of only IPv6, delivering IPv4 and IPv6 traffic over SRv6. This paper reports lessons learned from the deployment and operation of the IPv6 single-stack backbone network and an experiment of video streaming with SRv6 over a long distance between Makuhari and Osaka.
