[Poster Presentation] Study on key reconciliation for secret key agreement based on radio propagation characteristic

(in English) One of the secret key agreement based on radio propagation characteristics is to generate a quantized codeword by quantizing and coding the sample values of channel coefficients obtained at two legitimate stations. A secret key candidate is then generated from the codewords for the number of samples, and a common secret key is produced by key reconciliation. Various methods have been considered for key reconciliation, but most high-performance methods require complex arithmetic processing and massive information exchange. In this report, as a simple and practical method, we focus on a method that combines disagreement correction of the quantized codeword and error correction coding. We consider a disagreement detection and correction method by notification of parity of the quantized codeword (bit string). We also show that adaptive control of the number of quantization bits using the parity agreement rate can reduce the disagreement of the quantization codeword. The results show that the key bit disagreement rate can be maintained below which key reconciliation can be easily achieved with simple error correction coding.
