A wideband transmission system utilizing S+C+L band has been investigated in which C-band signals are converted to S-band and L-band signals via wavelength converters, thereby transmitting signals in S+C+L band. Among various wavelength converters, silicon waveguide is advantageous in terms of miniaturization and controllability of structural dispersion. In this paper, we design a dispersion-tailored silicon waveguide based on the dispersion simulation results, and evaluate the wideband wavelength conversion characteristics from C-band to S-band and L-band by a single silicon waveguide. |
