Study on Impression Change Caused by Edge-Blur Visual Phenomenon

(in English) We discovered a visual phenomenon in which the contrast decreases when the edge blurring occurs. The visual phenomenon that occurs at the edge has a large impact on the impression, and is considered to be an important clue to determine the texture and viewing conditions of the painting. In this study, we apply a method effective for mitigation of edge blur visual phenomenon to ink painting and verify its effect. Furthermore, we assumed that blurring of edges due to sight decrease would cause a decrease in contrast similar to the visual phenomenon related to edge blurring, and conducted an experiment.
