[Poster Presentation] Network Anomaly Detection Method Based on Communication Volume Changes in Edge Switches
Yuya Nakanishi, Shingo Ata (Osaka City Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Early detection of failures and anomalies that occur in the network and prompt recovery processing are essential for stable network operation. We have been studying an anomaly detection method that focuses on the communication volume of edge switches and uses the communication volume of each day of the week and time as learning data, and have shown that it is possible to identify relatively large network outages due to planned power outages and maintenance. However, in order to detect smaller-scale anomalies earlier, it is necessary to take into account time-series changes in the communication volume of edge switches. In this study, we propose a method for detecting anomalies using edge switch traffic that takes into account changes in the time series and verify that it can detect small-scale anomalies at an earlier stage.
