Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is mainly mounted on satellites, while in order to use SAR more effectively, there has been a lot of research aimed at using SAR in more civilian applications by mounting SAR on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which have lower operational costs than satellites. In this paper, we propose a drone-borne MIMO-FMCW radar-based SAR system to perform interferometric analyses, and reported preliminary flying experiments to acquire the data necessary for interferometric SAR. Data acquisition and synthetic aperture processing were conducted under uncertain trajectory conditions, and the response of the corner reflector was validated. Experimental results showed that the target response was obtained from the acquired data, and the resolution was close to the theoretical value. In addition, the target response could be observed from the inter-channel phase difference of the acquired data. We show a preliminal interferogram as well. |
