Neural networks (NNs), which mimic the function of neural circuits in the brain, use electrons to perform arithmetic operations, but optical NN hardware, which uses light as the medium for information transmission, enables faster and more efficient arithmetic processing. However, optical NN hardware has several issues in terms of implementation and computation. In this study, we proposed an optical reservoir chip that can virtually construct an optical neural network capable of large-scale and high-density computation and evaluated its performance. |
