Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Our research focuses on pedestrian-vehicle collision avoidance support systems using wireless communication. In particular, we focus on the recognition of pedestrians in blind spots such as buildings, which are difficult to recognize with cameras and sensors, in using advantages of wireless communication. We propose a pedestrian-vehicle collision avoidance support system for pedestrians in blind spots as an advance alert system by alerting in two steps: the first step is to limit the speed of vehicles, and the second step is to alert drivers again. Through several experiments, we have shown that the proposed system can recognize pedestrians and alert them appropriately.
