The value of user experiences in a virtual world should be determined with a consideration of both the virtual and real world. The experiences in a virtual world served by technologies, contents or workshops are far from a daily life and can be regarded as unreal events by users. This paper analyzes a relationship between psychological factors at users and requirements for technology researchers, content creators or designers from the viewpoint of experience values in designing the virtual world. The analysis includes a focus on both user’s daily life and creator’s activities in a real world. This paper also introduces the proposed situation-based design framework and a case study of the experiences of workshop participation by care workers.
