Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Communication through tactile stimulation is very important in order to evoke emotions and support the development of children with extremely severe disabilities such as severe intellectual and motor disabilities. However, in health risk situations, such as the current Covid-19 impact, physical contact is more difficult for such children. We have developed a percussion instrument system that converts percussion performances between remote locations into vibrations and transmits them to each other based on voice information exchanged by a voice chat system. Then, a workshop was held for teachers, hospital staff, etc. who support the development of children with severe disabilities. As a result of the post-experience evaluation by the workshop participants, the usefulness of this system was highly evaluated, and future issues for practical application were clarified.
