[Poster Presentation] Investigation on calibration of a reflection type fiber optic probe hydrophone in the consideration of diffraction

(in English) The authors proposed that a reflection type fiber optical probe hydrophone (FOPH) is suitable for the sound pressure measurement of the ultrasonic cleaning machine in environments of under cavitation. However, in measurements from 20k to 100 kHz, the output of the FOPH was found to be lower than that of the piezoelectric hydrophone (PZT). Probe dimension in FOPH is quite smaller than that in PZT. Therefore, probe size affects FOPH or PZT output due to diffraction. As a result, frequency characteristics appears in FOPH. In this report, we investigated the effect of diffraction on the sound field in the case of FOPH and PZT.
