Development of history-based chatbots in Slack

(in English) In recent years, due to the impact of COVID-19 and other factors, user assistance that does not involve online or person-to-person interaction has become increasingly important. In such an environment, chatbots, which can operate 24 hours a day to perform simple tasks on behalf of people, are attracting attention. However, most chatbots in use today are rule-based, outputting a certain number of predetermined answers, and there are still not many AI-type chatbots that can derive answers from the system itself. In this study, we will create a chatbot that automatically responds to questions about university laboratories. Specifically, we will develop an AI-type chatbot using the BERT model used for natural language processing, based on about 6 years of slack logs used in university laboratories, and examine the issues involved.
