Influence of Integral Circuit and AD Converter on Eye Pattern Observation Method of Nyquist WDM Signal Using Optical Correlation Detection

(in English) Optical signals used in optical communications are becoming wider band and faster as communication demand increases. In order to observe such optical signal waveforms, optical sampling techniques that are not limited by the response speed of electronic circuits are attracting attention, and we have proposed an optical correlation detection technique based on the analog integrated differential detection (AIDD) method as one such technique. The proposed method affects as a matched filter, an RRC filter, and a WDM filter, which play the roles of three frequency filters, thus eliminating the need for precise optical filters and high-speed devices for interval integration, which is necessary for correlation detection. In this study, the time constants of the integral circuit, the resolution of the ADC, and the sampling period used in the proposed method are investigated in order to obtain a high-quality observation of a specific wavelength channel signal from a Nyquist WDM signal.
