A theoretical analysis of the radiation force acting on a rigid sphere at the focus of a single-axis acoustic levitator that is composed of two focused ultrasonic sources was performed.
As a result, it was found that the radiation force varies with time at the difference frequency of the two source frequencies, and that the larger the sphere diameter, the weaker the force. It was also demonstrated that the previously reported experimental data of the radiation force and the corresponding theoretical predictions are in relatively good agreement. |
