Radar Imaging Using Arc-Shaped Scanning of Millimeter-Wave Array Radar for Accurate Physiological Measurement
Masaya Kato, Takuya Sakamoto (Kyoto Univ.) EST2022-99
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Wireless human body sensing using electromagnetic wave is expected to be applied to the medical field because it can measure physiological signals without wearing a sensor. Since physiological signals have different characteristics depending on the part of the human body, it is necessary to obtain echoes from the optimal part of the human body to measure physiological signals accurately using radar systems, and therefore understanding the reflection characteristics of the human body is essential. This paper propose a method of generating 3D radar images from multiple directions by scanning a millimeter-wave 2D array radar system along an arc curve, and integrating the multiple radar images obtained to realize high-precision imaging of the human body. Then, radar measurements are conducted with a participant and the proposed radar imaging method is applied to reveal the reflection characteristics of the human body.characteristics of the human body depending on the radar position.
