| (in English) | Until now, GPA has been used to evaluate grades at universities. Assignments to university laboratories, admission to graduate school, and school recommendations to paying companies are determined by GPA ranking. However, since GPA is an average of an ordinal scale, it is difficult to use in important situations. In this study, we propose a method of introducing objective and reliable grading by using rubric evaluation, which is used in U.S. universities and other institutions. Inheriting the three policies proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), we clearly state the graduation requirement policy, the evaluation perspective and evaluation scale for each class, and the evaluation criteria for each, and then grade the students. We propose a method of evaluating grades by incorporating the concept of categorical evaluation into its operation. | |
