This study investigates a real-valued filter realization for directed graph signals. The authors proposed a para-graph Fourier transform (ParaGFT) by considering a directed graph (digraph) with weights as an undirected graph with complex weights and defining a graph Laplacian with Hermitian symmetry along with a new degree matrix. ParaGFT is a unitary GFT that can set ordinalizable graph frequencies, resulting in filtering on directed graph signals. However, there is a problem with complex outputs for real inputs. Thus, this study clarifies the conditions for a graph filter that produces real outputs for real inputs in the ParaGFT domain. In addition, examples of directed graphs that can realize real-valued filters are discussed to verify the validity of the theories. |
