Positioning error improvements by relay-type GPS applying drone with optimal numbers
Rio Yamanaka, Takatoshi Sugiyama (Kogakuin Univ) SAT2022-59
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, GPS has been used widely. However, it is difficult to receive GPS signals from GPS satellites in an urban area because tall buildings block GPS signals. To solve this problem, relay type GPS by using drones has been previously proposed. In the relay type GPS, it is possible to calculate the target GPS receiver's positions by assisting the G-Drones (Drones transmitting GPS signals) around them, which transmit their own positions via the same GPS signal format. In conventional study, it has been limited to evaluate the positioning error of the target receiver when the drone was placed at four specific locations. In this paper, we examine the optimal number of drones that minimizes the positioning error by relay-type GPS.
