LEO Satellite Simulator for Connected Vehicle Scenarios
Jing Ma, Lei Zhong, Ryokichi Onishi (TMC) SAT2022-65
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) There has recently been a tremendous interest in developing large Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations that can deliver high throughput low-latency communication all over the world. It is beneficial and important to consider LEO satellite communication as a potential technology to provide worldwide communication service for connected vehicles. However, the implementation or evaluation of LEO satellite communication for connected vehicles is challenging because it generally requires costly infrastructure. In this paper, an integrated simulation framework to evaluate LEO satellite communication for connected vehicles is presented. Furthermore, the developed simulation framework is evaluated in the demonstrated scenarios, the initial evaluation results are also introduced.
