Analysis of TV commercial favorability by scene labeling and XAI

(in English) A large amount of money (6 trillion yen) is spent every year to produce TV commercials that advertise companies and their products. However, the question of what kind of commercials will gain the viewers' favorable impression is still an unresolved issue, even in today's big data society. Therefore, in this study, we will analyze what kind of objects and actions are attributed to the likability of commercials. The method used in this study is to divide commercials into scenes based on cut-point detection, and to label the divided scenes using an object detection and motion recognition model developed specifically for video advertisements. The labeling results and liking data are then analyzed using XAI to provide information that is useful for commercial production.
