Accuracy Improvement of Moving Beam Stopper Method in Radiography

(in English) In radiography, when X-rays are incident on a subject, interaction between the X-rays and the subject causes scattered rays. In X-ray imaging, scattered rays cause a loss of contrast in the resulting X-ray image, so it is common practice to mount a grid between the patient and the detector.In recent years, portable X-ray system have been increasingly used for home care due to the aging of the population and infectious diseases, and for hospitalized patients.With these devices, it is difficult to mount the grid in the proper position, and it is often not used, often causing diagnostic problems.Although a method using a moving beam stopper and aflat panel detector has been proposed as a method of removing scattered radiation without using a grid, it has a drawback in accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new method which improves accuracy of this method. Numerical examples are presented to show effectiveness of proposed method.
