| (in English) | The most common way to learn handwriting characters is to handwrite them over and over again. However, this repetitive practice tends to be simple and boring. To make character practice fun and effective, we propose a method to play a melody based on handwritten strokes. We implemented the prototype system called "Melogy" and conducted experiments for university students to practice Sanskrit characters using the system. The experiment results showed that the number of practice sessions tended to increase when the students practiced using Melo-jee on iPads, suggesting that the system could increase their motivation to practice letters. | |
