Spatial Augmented Reality (SAR) is a technology that adds information on physical surfaces using a projector or other means, and is often used in action support systems. In this study, we propose an action learning support system using SAR technology. The previous works have developed real-time interaction system using RGB and depth camera. However, there have been some privacy concerns of participants and calibration difficulties as regards using cameras. Additionally, while many systems have been proposed to improve skills by repeating targeted movements, no system has been investigated which promotes behavioral proficiency through various approaches. To address these issues, we employed sensor-based action recognition technology. This allows us to evaluate actions performed using tools, in addition to recognizing body movements using cameras as was previously done. Furthermore, by implementing multiple application modes, such as gaming mode that allow players to practice specific actions while having fun, we can promote comprehensive action skill acquisition. We focused on cleaning action training as a typical use case. By using an acceleration sensor and 2D-LiDARs for activity recognition and providing feedback through projection, we implemented a SAR system which promotes action skill improvement to evaluate its effectiveness. |
