A Study on the Effect of Adaptive Coding and Modulation for High-Throughput Satellite on Data Rates with Variation in Rainfall

(in English) The effect of using ACM(Adaptive Coding and Modulation) on improving data rates in Ka-band High Throughput Satellite(HTS) communications system is studied with changing the rainfall intensity and the number of users, assuming FDMA system and the environment under the resource control for frequency bandwidth and transmission power between beams. Rain attenuation is calculated using hourly rainfall intensity data from AMeDAS for the past 15 years.
