A study on modulation and demodulation methods applying object detection DNN for digital signage and image sensor-based visible light communication

(in English) This study discusses a visible light communication system using a digital signage as a transmitter and an image sensor as a receiver. The transmitter modulates and superimposes data signals on the signage image so that they cannot be easily perceived, and the receiver detects and demodulates the data signals after differential processing of time-sequential received images. In the conventional studies, the detection and demodulation of the data signals are processed independently. In this study, we propose a new algorithm that simultaneously processes signal detection and demodulation by applying object detection DNN(Deep Neural Network). In addition, we investigate and evaluate suitable data signal formats for demodulation using the object detection DNN.
