A Study on Joint Peak Cancellation and In-band Distortion Compensation for Precoded Massive MIMO-OFDM with Uniform Planar Array, Part-II

(in English) The authors have proposed an in-band distortion compensation (IDC) scheme for peak cancellation (PC) based peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in massive multi-input multi-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (mMIMO-OFDM) with a uniform planar array (UPA). In this scheme, the beam-formed IDC signals are transmitted through the dedicated compensation antennas so that each user can receive its own data signals without being affected by any in-band distortion. It has also been reported that the in-band distortion cancellation performance is improved by selecting appropriate antennas to minimize the nonlinear distortion of the IDC signals. In this article, we evaluate the effect of the adopted precoding schemes on the achieved performance of the mMIMO-OFDM with PC and in-band distortion compensation. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better transmission performance than conventional schemes and that the instantaneous power at the complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF)=$10^{-4}$ is reduced to 3 dB.
