SB-SPS Resource Management Scheme to Mitigate Half Duplex Problem in Platoon Relay Transmission using Sidelink Communication

(in English) Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication using C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle to Everything) has attracted attention recently, which is expected to improve traffic safety and efficiency. In platooning, one of applications of V2V communication, multiple vehicles share information such as the speed and position of the vehicle leading the platoon to follow each other. Relay transmission using sidelink communication is considered as a means of information sharing in vehicle platooning. On the other hand, although the autonomous resource management scheme SB-SPS (Sensing Based Semi Persistent Scheduling) has been standardized for sidelink communication, applying the SB-SPS to platoon relay transmission may cause a half duplex problem, resulting in degradation of communication performance. This study investigates the impact of half duplex problem on the performance of platoon relay transmission employing the SB-SPS scheme, and proposes a resource management scheme to mitigate half duplex problem and then improve the transmission performance.
