Considerations on Self-Interference Canceller using DMRS in Full-Duplex Mobile Communications

(in English) Full-duplex mobile communications have been discussed as one of the duplex technologies to increase the spectral efficiency for 5G mobile systems and beyond. In full-duplex mobile communications, the key challenge is the self-interference (SI) caused by the coupling between the transmitter (TX) and its own receiver (RX). In this paper, we propose a new type of SI canceller based on the channel estimation between TX and its own RX through the use of a specific demodulation reference signal (DMRS) which is special type of physical layer signal. Especially, two different types of DMRS mappings for downlink and uplink channels are used for implementing of full-duplex mobile communications. We first show the configuration of the proposed SI canceller using the DMRS. Then, we demonstrate the BER performance of OFDM-based QPSK and QAM signals under static and Flat fading channels for SI to clarify the improvement effects of the proposed SI canceller, using link-level simulations.
