Radar-based physiological measurement techniques detect the displacement of the body surface caused by respiration and heartbeat. When considering the introduction of radar-based physiological sensing in daily life, it is essential to know the maximum measurable distance of vital signs.
In this study, we use a commercially available millimeter-wave radar system that has obtained a technical standards compliance certificate from Japan to evaluate the maximum measurable distance of vital signs through numerical simulations and experiments. |
