Observation of two colliding picoliter droplets with different liquid properties

(in English) We are investigating micro dynamics of liquid using inkjet droplets with the volume of the order of picoliter. Our system of droplet ejection and observation, which is new generation, has an ability that you can make viscous liquid of 200 mPa.s into droplets with the diameter of 30 micrometers and take high resolution photos of droplets in flight with the time resolution of 0.1 microseconds with stroboscopic technique. In this work, a droplet of distilled water was observed in colliding with an ethanol droplet doped with rhodamine B, and it was succeeded in estimating the front line of ethanol region covering the water droplet because of the difference of the surface tensions between two liquids.
