In this report, design and evaluation results of 28 GHz band highly efficient GaAs rectenna MMIC is described for utilization of the WPT/communication migrated system. With a use of an impedance transformed small loop antenna, the rectenna MMIC can be integrated under both conditions of miniaturization and highly efficient rectification. The fabricated 28GHz band rectenna MMIC achieves the size of 1.3 X 1.5 mm2 and rectification efficiency of 71.1 % at an input power of 16.2 dBm that is the top performance. Furthermore, the estimated overall sensitivity of the rectenna is higher than that of reported CMOS rectifier ICs that have lower antenna radiation gains and higher rectifier sensitivities. |
