As part of our research and development on microwave power transmission, we are participating in "R&D on Interference Suppression Technology and Advanced Technology for Wireless Power Transmission via Radio Frequency Beam," within the "R&D for Expansion of Radio Wave Resources." In this report, we will report on the power supply capacity and interference effects of the spatial transmission WPT system, based on data obtained from demonstration experiments conducted using the YRP Center as part of this research and development.
For the Beam-WPT system, three bands, 920MHz/2.4GHz band, and 5.7GHz band, have been institutionalized, and we are aiming to expand its use, including the addition of the 24GHz band. In research and development, we aim to increase the usage efficiency by 10 times compared to the current system in order to expand the range of usage, and we conducted demonstration experiments in 4 bands including the 24 GHz band in fiscal 2022 as basic data. In this report, we evaluate the power that can be supplied by Beam-WPT under the current system from empirical data, and report on the challenges to realizing USB charging, which is the specific goal of the research, and peripheral effects such as interference power around power transmission. |
