With the rapid increase in demand for wireless communication services, dynamic spectrum sharing in cognitive radio networks has received growing attention for efficiently utilizing limited radio resources.
In cognitive radio networks, users are classified into primary and cognitive users, and cognitive users are authorized to transmit data when they do not affect the
communication quality of primary users. To achieve this, a primary user pre-sends his/her location information to a spectrum ad-
ministrator. Therefore, protecting the location privacy of primary users is a critical issue in cognitive radio networks. In this study,
we consider a cognitive radio network in which a primary user preserves his/her location privacy based on geo-indistinguishability
and theoretically analyze the communication performance via a stochastic geometry approach. We assume a transmitter-receiver
pair for primary users and model the locations of transmitters and receives of cognitive users by 2D Poisson point processes.
We also assume that the primary receiver sends a randomized location to a spectrum administrator by adding noise based on
geo-indistinguishability. We analyze the outage probability of each user in this model and theoretically evaluate the impact of
location privacy protection on communication quality. |
