Evaluation of Effectiveness of Intervention Strategy in Control Simulation Experiment through Comparison with Model Predictive Control

(in English) The Control Simulation Experiment (CSE) is an attempt to develop weather control methods in the field of weather theory. The control strategies proposed in CSE realize the control of Lorenz-63, a benchmark model in the field of weather theory, for specific parameter values. In this study, we evaluate the control input search performance of control strategies in CSE by comparing it with a standard method in the field of control theory called Model Predictive Control (MPC). As a result, we found that CSE control strategies are not effective in several scenarios that can be controlled by MPC. This suggests that the control input search performance of the CSE control strategy is not necessarily superior.
