We are developing the novel algorithm for the fitting of polarimetric SAR images and the general volume scattering model. The exhaustive search for the huge number of candidate parameters is temporarily implemented to analyze/evaluate the fitting efficiency. However, it is difficult to evaluate the fitting efficiency for the large-sized SAR images, since the exhaustive fitting procedure takes huge computation time. In this study, the parallel fitting procedure is developed for AMD and NVIDIA GPUs to relax this problem. As a result, 24.5 minutes of computation time, which is based on 32 CPU cores for 1024x1024 pixels with 2^27 (130 million) parameters, has been reduced to 3 minutes with 14592 GPU cores. Thus, we found that the quad GPU server takes 3.2 hours for the fitting with 16384x16384 pixels. |
