Indoor Local 5G Radio Map Generation Using Real-Time Spectrum Monitor: Consideration of Non-Line-of-Sight Environment

Our goal is to understand wireless environment of smart factory in real-time.
By time synchronizing multiple real-time spectrum monitors, simultaneous multi-point and multi-frequency-band measurements can be performed.
As a fundamental investigation, we aim to generate a 4.8-GHz band local 5th-generation (L5G) radio map.
In an indoor L5G environment, formulas were developed to calculate the distance dependency of the received power in line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments. The receiver antenna gain was measured to incorporate it into the formulas. For the NLOS environment, the knife-edge diffraction loss calculation was applied.
Moreover, we measured the distance dependency of the received power and compared them with the calculation results by the formulas. As a result, the maximum error in the measurement range was within 5,dB. |
