This paper have considered an optimal inspection planning problem, which determines several inspection intervals in facility management. In conventional mathematical models of inspection planning problems, the distributional characteristic of failure time in facilities are assumed to be known, but in real the distributional characteristics of failure time in facilities are not always explicitly given. In this research, we have considered an optimal inspection planning problem in the situation the distributional characteristics of failure time in facilities is unknown and only the mean and variance of failure time are given. We, in particular, have developed a method for planning optimal inspection intervals based on the maximum entropy principle. Finally, usefulness of our proposal has been illustrated throughout some numerical examples. |
