Frequency dependence measurements of complex permittivity for various dielectric materials in millimeter wave region

(in English) Recently, millimeter wave applications have attracted much attention to realize Giga bit class wireless system and automotive radar systems, and so on. Circuit designers require accurate complex permittivity for dielectric substrates to develop such systems. The authors have been presented a cut-off circular waveguide method and a Whispering Gallery mode resonator method to evaluate complex permittivity for low loss dielectric substrates in millimeter wave regions. In this paper, frequency dependences of complex permittivity for PTFE plates, quartz glass plates, aluminum nitride (AlN) plates and underfill plates are shown by using these measurement methods. These results will be useful to develop novel millimeter wave applications.
