Microwave power transmission (MPT) is one of the wireless power transfer technologies. We apply it to charging observation equipments located at volcanoes. The equipment, supposed to record the activity of volcano, has some problems with energy supply. We solve the problems by using a drone installing a transmitting antenna on it. Such a combination of MPT and a drone enables us to supply electric power wirelessly at remote location in volcanoes. In this paper, we design transmitting antennas suitable for the above system. We aim to form the flat-topped radiation pattern on the receiving area for high efficiency transmission. |
