Planar Sensor using Combination Fractal Technique for Soil Moisture Measurement

(in English) This paper proposes planar sensor using combination fractal technique for soil moisture measurement. The antenna design is used FR4 substrate with thickness of 1.6 mm and dielectric constant εr = 4.4. The proposed antenna use combination fractal technique and probe fed. The fabricated antenna has size with dimension of 130 ? 130 ? 1.6 mm3, from the measured results of S11 bandwidth to operate of 950 MHz - 970 MHz. The system consists of a frequency generator that uses voltage control oscillator (VCO) to obtain the desired frequency and use the SWR Bridge as a link between the frequency generator circuit and the output to display the measured soil moisture. This will show the result as a power in the unit (dB) and see the comparison of the signal to see the difference in soil moisture from testing that the antenna has a real moisture effect when tested with soil when measuring 3 levels of soil, the soil dryness was measured. When measuring moist soil, the power will be increased by 1 - 2 dB and when wet soil measurements are found that the power is increased by 2 - 3 dB. Different styles but when compared to the same soil, the signal form of the graph is the same, but can clearly see the difference compared to the signal before the soil measurement.
