This research presents design and fabrication of a pyramidal electromagnetic (EM) absorber made by latex. The advantage of this research is to reduce number of imported EM absorbers and to increase value-added latex. The proposed absorber in the research is mainly made from latex with carbon black filler for absorbing an EM wave so that it is in the form of rubber foam which provides suitable characteristics to be used as a pyramidal EM absorber. The results of this research are chemical formulas for fabrications of rubber foam with carbon black filler. In order to study the effect of interested parameters, the rubber foams are fabricated with various amounts of carbon black. The reflection coefficient S21 is measured to study the effect of the interested parameters. The knowledge obtained from this work will be very useful for development to pyramidal absorber shape.
