High Gain Patch Array Antenna Covered by Dielectric Slab for Wireless Power Transfer Systems

(in English) High gain antennas such as array antennas are necessary for efficient wireless power transfer systems. In order to in-crease gain of the array antennas, large number of array elements are necessary but their fabrication cost is expensive. In this paper, a high gain patch array antenna covered by a dielectric slab is proposed. The proposed antenna is high gain owing to the dielectric slab even when the number of the array elements are small. Performance of the proposed antenna is demonstrated numerically and experimentally. Finally, the proposed antenna is applied to wireless power transfer and it is demonstrated that the power transfer efficiency can be enhanced by the proposed antenna.
