A satellite-to-ground space solar power transmission demonstration test has been proposed using a small satellite.
The purpose of this demonstration is to verify satellite-mounted long-range beam steering technology.
In addition to this purpose, we aim to confirm the operation of electronic equipment using radio waves from satellites and to demonstrate the effectiveness of space solar power technology.
The power obtained on the ground when microwaves are radiated from a small satellite is very small, and can only light an LED using a parabolic antenna with a diameter of 21 m.Then, more effective demonstrations with lower power are desired.
Therefore, we proposed a demonstration test using an unpowered radio. Through basic experiments, we showed that a receiving antenna diameter less than 1/10 that of the conventional one. |
