Design of Low Efficiency Variation 5G Rectifier without External Matching Circuits

(in English) A self-impedance matching which reduces the circuit size and losses is proposed for a 5G rectifier by using a voltage doubler and a half-wave rectifier where the later operates as a virtual dc source to cancel out the junction capacitance of voltage-doubler. Furthermore, an inductance of 2 nH was realized by Defected Ground Structure (DGS) topology which is loaded between these two elements for further improvement of the rectifier’s performance. Without any external matching circuits, the proposed rectifier provides more than 65% flat efficiency in the frequency band of 3.5 GHz to 4.5 GHz with an overall circuit size of 0.756 cm2 only.
