A study of detecting DoS attack by using automatically generated traffic patterns

(in English) In this paper, detection techniques for DoS attack are proposed, by comparing the estimated forecast traffic with actual on going traffic. If the forecast traffic is estimated correctly, abnormal traffic caused by DoS attack can be distinguished because of its extraordinary increment pattern. Traffic was forecasted by using methods of neural network and templates. Obtained result shows forecast and actual traffic are good agreement in 60-70 percent, and proposed latter method is effective for detection of DoS attack.
