Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We are developing a new wireless HDTV camera system for TV studio, which can transmit one or more HD-SDI signals at the same time without signal interruption, applying a MIMO-OFDM system. In this report, we focused on two methods, correlation detection (CD) and difference detection (DD), to detect guard intervals (GI, cyclic prefix) for symbol synchronization of the MIMO-OFDM system. To analyze the sensitivity performances of these two methods, we conducted computer simulations considering the fading environment in a studio. An “S/N for Guard Interval Detection” that we defined here was used for their evaluation. As a result, DD was 6dB (S/N for detection) superior to CD under a conventional OFDM system. On the other hand, CD is better than DD under MIMO-OFDM system with frequency offset in the received signals.
